Running journey - 2025

I remember someone once asking me, “How did you suddenly get so passionate about running?”
Back then, I didn’t have a solid answer. I just brushed it off, saying it’s the easiest workout—all you need is to run. But that question stayed with me.

Why was I always pumped to break every PR?
Why was it so fascinating to collect medals, even when they were just participation medals?
Why did I enjoy pushing myself to the extreme, especially when work and personal life were demanding me from all directions?

The core answer, I realized later, was incomplete childhood dreams.

Anyone who has met me even once would say I have a fairly decent height and body structure. Almost everyone has told me that I must have excelled in sports—or at least done well in something like basketball or volleyball. But back in my school days, sports were never a priority.

Like many others, the focus was always on getting a good percentage, deciding the next steps, and preparing for IIT or engineering. I think this story is the same for at least half of us. Somewhere along the way, one dream remained unfulfilled: picking a sport I could have truly excelled in—or simply enjoyed completely.

Running Changed That

Through running, I discovered that it’s not just about personal fitness. It’s also about competing in properly organized events. People train for months, sometimes years, to participate. They chase PRs, and a few even make it to the podium.

That’s when it hit me—I’m finally at a stage in life where I can spend time and money on something purely for myself. I could chase that long-lost dream of enjoying the sport to its core.

So I started last year, preparing for my first half marathon at the beginning of the year. Slowly, I began participating in more and more races. I’m extremely grateful for whatever I’ve been able to achieve so far.
